I belong in the zoo!

I give up... I'm off to the zoo. Maybe a break is what I need to be able to do the simple things without a headache. :-)

Hanging with my cousin is always fun... Last night he came over to work on his website. I'd ordered dinner, sushi and sashimi. I was very brave, and had eel and the salmon eggs! Eel wasn't slimey like I'd expected. The eggs were just kind of salty then sweet when they burst; they don't do much for me, but if they're sprinkled on my sushi I'll eat 'em.

Matt (known as "Nasby") has a cell phone that rings enough to drive any person crazy. Thankfully he has the discipline to ignore calls with the help of caller ID and a handy reject call button. He'd stepped out once when it rang and I noticed a name, Jones. I said, "Hey Matt, there's a Jones on your cell. Must be Norah." Matt replies, "Yeah, she wants to come away with me." :-) Matt's always got a good quick comeback; he's very funny.

Easter & Birthday

While helping my mom prepare yesterday's dinner, she asked me what Gaetano's uncle Mario and Aunt Melissa got him for his birthday. I answered "They gave him $25 and some Playboy." My mom had this look of shock on her face and then I realized what I'd said. "Not Playboy! I meant Play-Doh. They'd better not get him that for at least another 15 years!" If you want to see some pictures from his birthday check the gallery under Easter & Birthday 2003.

I got gypped; we had roasted lamb, but it was pre-cooked! Apparantly mom and dad decided to make a ton of other food and opted for a ready-to-eat leg of lamb. Oh well, maybe next year.

Instead I got a big fat greek belly ache -- I swear, labor was less painful -- so its going to be a rough night. Tomorrow, when I'm feeling better I'll post some pictures and whatnot.

My Big Fat Greek Easter

Today very well may turn out to be My Big Fat Greek Easter. We're heading to my parent's house later to celebrate Easter/Mom's Birthday/Gaetano's Birthday in typical greek style. That's right, we'll be roasting a lamb in the backyard.

What a weekend

What a weekend this is going to be... Easter is on Sunday, but it is also my mom's birthday and my son's 3rd birthday! I'll try to take pictures if the digital camera is more cooperative than it was in Toronto last month...

First Kiss

On this very day 14 years ago at right about this time, I was in the 400 building. It was my freshman year in High School, the day of my first kiss... What a sap I am to remember that huh?

Dr. Atkins

Sad day...Dr. Atkins died today as a result of an accident, not health. You can read about it at his site Thanks Dr. Atkins for helping so many lose the weight, myself included.

What an evening... Sushi, then Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake ice cream from the container, then a glass of fine champagne while watching a chick flick with a good friend. To finish of the night, I'll be listening to some tunes, and working on a Server Behavior that I'll hopefully send to beta tomorrow.

By the way, I had a couple confessions (see yesterday's post), but none of them turned out to be the culprit. I guess they were just guilty, and not paying attention to the timestamp...busted!

Wow, what a night. Matt (my cousin "Nasby", a radio DJ in Palm Springs) and I were up almost all night working on the new layout and it is looking pretty darn good if I do say so myself... I think I got to bed at about 3:30am and was up by about 8:30. Been working on the site all day. Can't wait to get it finished and online!

Childhood Nostalgia

Kicking back with a friend of mine, she asked me to look for a movie she saw in her childhood. Well we found the book for her but not the movie. Doing this for her reminded me of a movie I saw as a kid, Santa Claus Conquers the Martians. I've looked for this film for the past 9 years, and its been "out of print" according to every shop I looked. Amazon has it, on DVD even! So of course I ordered it :-) Can't wait to see if it is as cheesey as I recall...

Color Vision

For a little over a year now, I've noticed that my left and right eyes each see color differently. At my optometry appointment last February, it was recommended that I see a specialist, and that what I experience is a common early symptom of Multiple Sclerosis. It wasn't until recently that I finally went to get checked. Last Thursday I saw the opthalmologist and he was stumped. He ordered some tests which I completed the day before yesterday. The results looked normal, but he had me see the retinal/optical nerve specialist. All tests he did were normal as well; no logical explanation for the difference in color vision. He doesn't think it is Multiple Sclerosis since I lack other symptoms and passed the visual field test. At this point, the only thing left to do would be an MRI, but he didn't feel it was necessary or that it would reveal any problems, and left the decision to me. I've opted not to take the test, and will happily live not knowing the cause of my problem. I'm supposed to go back in about 6 months for another visual field test, or if other symptoms appear. Needless to say, I'm quite relieved at the outcome and hope I never need to question the origin of my color vision issue again.

In case the self-portrait just wasn't enough for you, there's two new shots in the Miscellaneous Photo Album April 6th and Cheek 2 Cheek are the two new shots. Yes, I have had a drink ;-).

Its much more red in the light, and I'm sure it will get a little lighter over the next couple of days. Little by little I'll lighten it more and by summer it should be the way I want it. :-)

Red hair

A few friends have asked me to take the picture of my new hair color myself instead of waiting for someone else to take it for me. Self portraits always look funky... I'll show you anyway in the Miscellaneous galler. It looks much more red in person and the red highlights look much lighter as well. It all depends on the lighting.

Dye results

Wow, this is pretty dramatic for me. I've some red and some blondish hilights. If my friend comes over later, I'll have her take a picture. If not, I'll have to wait until tomorrow, because Ambrogio gets home from work really late tonight.

I got up the courage to dye my hair even lighter/redder than before. I went with "apricot" which is is pretty much the color of an apricot's skin. Because my hair is so dark naturally, it won't get nearly as light as I'd like. The L'Oreal Couleur Experte line comes with a second step for highliting, which is what's in my hair now as I type. Its about time to rinse, and I'm excited to see how the hilights turn out. I'll post again afterwards, and maybe post a picture if I can get someone to snap one for me.

Washington Mutual gives good service. The fraudulent purchases have already been creditted back to my account. Now if we can catch the jerk who did this in the first place, I'd be thrilled.

I feel so violated... According to my bank, I subscribed to 3 porn sites for just over $100 on 3/25/03. No, my husband didn't subscribe. A) He can't lie to me, I always know and I asked. B) He'd have to be able to use the computer. When am I not on the computer that he could have been? Never... He's just not computer savvy in the slightest. C) The transaction took place on 3/25, a Tuesday and he was home in the morning and I was on the PC. Later he went to work. There aren't any computers there. He's innocent! :-)

Whoever did this is slime, and I hope the bastard is caught, put in a straight jacket, fed high doses of Viagra and then forced to look at the porn!
