Childhood Nostalgia

Kicking back with a friend of mine, she asked me to look for a movie she saw in her childhood. Well we found the book for her but not the movie. Doing this for her reminded me of a movie I saw as a kid, Santa Claus Conquers the Martians. I've looked for this film for the past 9 years, and its been "out of print" according to every shop I looked. Amazon has it, on DVD even! So of course I ordered it :-) Can't wait to see if it is as cheesey as I recall...

Color Vision

For a little over a year now, I've noticed that my left and right eyes each see color differently. At my optometry appointment last February, it was recommended that I see a specialist, and that what I experience is a common early symptom of Multiple Sclerosis. It wasn't until recently that I finally went to get checked. Last Thursday I saw the opthalmologist and he was stumped. He ordered some tests which I completed the day before yesterday. The results looked normal, but he had me see the retinal/optical nerve specialist. All tests he did were normal as well; no logical explanation for the difference in color vision. He doesn't think it is Multiple Sclerosis since I lack other symptoms and passed the visual field test. At this point, the only thing left to do would be an MRI, but he didn't feel it was necessary or that it would reveal any problems, and left the decision to me. I've opted not to take the test, and will happily live not knowing the cause of my problem. I'm supposed to go back in about 6 months for another visual field test, or if other symptoms appear. Needless to say, I'm quite relieved at the outcome and hope I never need to question the origin of my color vision issue again.

Self-portrait

In case the self-portrait just wasn't enough for you, there's two new shots in the Miscellaneous Photo Album April 6th and Cheek 2 Cheek are the two new shots. Yes, I have had a drink ;-).

Its much more red in the light, and I'm sure it will get a little lighter over the next couple of days. Little by little I'll lighten it more and by summer it should be the way I want it. :-)

Red hair

A few friends have asked me to take the picture of my new hair color myself instead of waiting for someone else to take it for me. Self portraits always look funky... I'll show you anyway in the Miscellaneous galler. It looks much more red in person and the red highlights look much lighter as well. It all depends on the lighting.

Dye results

Wow, this is pretty dramatic for me. I've some red and some blondish hilights. If my friend comes over later, I'll have her take a picture. If not, I'll have to wait until tomorrow, because Ambrogio gets home from work really late tonight.

Apricot

I got up the courage to dye my hair even lighter/redder than before. I went with "apricot" which is is pretty much the color of an apricot's skin. Because my hair is so dark naturally, it won't get nearly as light as I'd like. The L'Oreal Couleur Experte line comes with a second step for highliting, which is what's in my hair now as I type. Its about time to rinse, and I'm excited to see how the hilights turn out. I'll post again afterwards, and maybe post a picture if I can get someone to snap one for me.
