If it were April 1st, I'd think it was a hoax. April Fools lasts all month to some but this would be one elaborate prank. With that out of the way, you can see proof that Macromedia is being acquired by Adobe at both of their websites.
Adobe's site is running super slow right now, probably due to the load of traffic. Be patient; the URLs provided above link to the press release on their respecitive websites. Macromedia's home page is currently linking to a page on Adobe's website that has a lot of information.
